Wool Skirting Party - Sat. 5/30 between 10AM-4PM

$0.00
sold out

Join us at the Sheepery for a day outside, skirting wool with good company on the farm! This isn’t a workshop, but instructions and tips will be provided and skirting will be supervised by Caroline Vandenberghe, the shepherd here at the farm.

This is a no-cost event.

We’ll be skirting between 10AM and 4PM, taking a break for lunch around noon. Pizza will be provided to all who participate as a thank you for helping us skirt, served picnic style. Feel free to show up any time and stay for as long as you’d like!

On the table we’ll have Icelandic, Avondale, Cheviot, East Friesian Cross, and other delicious wools as a part of our Farmer’s Flock program. Attendees who participate in skirting are welcome to buy raw fleeces, and the farm store will be open too. Of course, the sheep are also around for a scritch and a ‘hello’!

Additional details:

  • Public restroom will be available

  • Please bring a water bottle - we will have some drinks with lunch

  • We will be unable to accommodate dietary restrictions with the pizza, apologies! Rome Grocery (down the road) has gluten free and vegan pizza options, and you’re welcome to bring your own lunch and snacks.

  • Feel free to bring friends, but please try to get an accurate head count (add however many spots you’d like to your cart), so we can make sure we have enough skirting tables set up to accommodate everyone.

  • No dogs please! It stresses out our Livestock Guardians.
