Fingering Weight · 2-ply · 210 yds/50g · Warm white (undyed)
100% Millspun Shetland Wool
Spun from the fleece of our Shetland sheep, this yarn is a classic fingering-weight Shetland yarn. 2-ply allows it to feel rustic while remaining strong, and we highly recommend it for colorwork, including fair-isle. It’s soft and would be the perfect heirloom addition to your fiber project, whether it be knitting or crocheting.
Hlifa and her sister Helene grew the wool for this yarn. Hlifa’s an older Shetland ewe who came to us from Sue Smith at Blackberry Heritage Fibers. She’s wide and low and has a grey nose, not to be confused with our pink-nosed Fenella!
This yarn is grown by our flock, blade-shorn by the shepherd, Caroline, and spun within 50 miles by a local wool mill, Skagit Woolen Works.
