Spun from the fleece of our Shetland sheep, this yarn is a classic fingering-weight Shetland yarn. 2-ply allows it to feel rustic while remaining strong, and we highly recommend it for colorwork, including fair-isle. It’s soft and would be the perfect heirloom addition to your fiber project, whether it be knitting or crocheting.
LIùsaidh (Lu-Cee, but we call her Lulu) grew the wool for this yarn. She’s a young Shetland ewe who came to us from Sue Smith at Blackberry Heritage Fibers. Lulu is a sweet little girl, another one of our teenie shetlands, but she grows enough fleece to get the job done!
This yarn is grown by our flock, shorn by Pony Jacobson, and spun within 50 miles by a local wool mill, Skagit Woolen Works.
